UM ESTUDO PARA OS AMERICANOS

VOTE WITH GOD

Deuteronomy 23:21,22

When you make a vow to the LORD thy God, not delay in fulfilling it, for the LORD thy God will surely require of thee, and thou shalt have sin.

Then added that many Christians today even know what a covenant with God. In a context where lots heaven, where yet another form of faith bargaining.

. A vow is a promise made to God. What can be an expression of gratitude for a favor granted, or a promise in order to express gratitude for some desired blessings, if God see fit to (bestow them). In this respect the biblical vow not to be confused with the "promise", since this is made a "saint, " while that could be done only to God. The Bible contains many injunctions about the observance of the vote. There should, therefore, the vote being seen as a bargain. A kind of "give and take. " The vote must be done as an expression of pious devotion of the believer to God. (provide by law, grant).

The vow of Jacob:

• "NG 28:20 - And Jacob made a vow, saying, If God is with me and keep me in this trip I do, and give me bread to eat, clothes to wear;

GN 28:21 - And I make peace in the house of my father, the Lord shall be my God;

When referring to the vow of Jacob notes that "some people have criticized this act as a typical attempt to bargain with God, but he was far from it. Jacob did not ask for fame or wealth. All he wanted was food and clothing, until he could return. This fact in itself tells us that he was not essentially selfish person. "The passage of Gen 28.20-22 is the first biblical reference to the practice of voting.
But how well observed at all times both in joy and in suffering the man felt the need to extend your heart to God through the vows and promises. But ultimately what it is, therefore, one vote ", in Hebrew, gives us the definition of the word swim, translated as " vote. "A vote means:" To promise voluntarily do or give something. "Further notes that the fullest expression neder swim, is translated literally and redundant like "vote a vote. " The vote, therefore, is a promise that someone has towards divinity. In the given concept, which is highlighted when someone wants to make a vote, must do so voluntarily. All performers are keen to highlight the willingness of voto.Observa that a vote "means a voluntary obligation or promise made to God. " Indeed voluntariness is an essential element for an act setting is moral. In other words, we will only be liable for those acts we practice voluntarily. In the case of voting the Bible, no one was obliged to do so. "Eschewing the vow you make, there is no sin in thee. "

(Deuteronomy 23:22). Furthermore, the vow once made, had the responsibility to fulfill it. "When you make a vow to the Lord your God will not delay in fulfilling it, for the Lord thy God, indeed, require it of thee, and thou shalt have sin. " (Deuteronomy 23:21) "When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, because no pleasure in fools. Meets the vote that you do. "(Ecclesiastes 5.4). Before a vote is necessary to be aware of the commitment we are assuming. Can I fulfill this vow?

• I remember that a brother came to me once. He showed that they were dissatisfied with the leader of the congregation of which he belonged. Wondering why your discontent found that it was something related to a vow he had made. He had vowed to God saying that if the Lord gave him victory at something he had asked, then he made in pursuance of the vote would make a weekly worship at home. Always on Tuesdays. Having reached the Lord's favor, that his brother found himself struggling to fulfill his vow. The leader of the congregation told him, correctly, that he should not have made a vow that depended on others for what could be accomplished. The church had its own agenda and could not live according to the oath of that brother. The question is thus not simply vote, but what we are voting and how we can fulfill our wishes.

The vow of Jephthah

• "JZ 11:30 - And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD, and said: If you give all the children of Ammon into my hand,

JZ 11:31 - What, leaving the door of my house to meet me, when I return the children of Ammon in peace, it is the LORD, and offer it as a holocaust.

Jephthah's case is well known. The verses cited make clear that Jephthah did not intend that his daughter was the object of fulfilling his vow precipitate. But the vague and reckless as he did his vote was the cause of his later regret. "When I saw her, he tore his clothes and said, Ah! My daughter, thou hast subdued completely: you have begun to be the cause of my affliction, because I made a vow to the Lord and not go back (Judges 11:35). "Finally, note that according to the Scriptures as we can not offer vow to the Lord that which already belongs to him or which he is forbidden. For example, since the tithe is the Lord, I can not intending to make a vow to pay for it with him (Malachi 3:10). What is the result of anything impure or abominable object can not be voting (Deuteronomy 23:18). The vote, therefore, should be seen as a manifestation of God's grace, and with whom He wants to bless us.
